What did you say?
sound installation, 60 x 230 x 60 cm,wood, aluminium, sneaker, speaker, and sand
What did you say? is a sound installation developed to interact with the public and other works. Activated every three minutes, it whispers or spits out comments, questions, or short sentences heard in the exhibition space during previous events, repeating them back to the public as if carried by the wind, or reading minds. The work condenses memories of the space into a single timeline, and explores how discourses around art are recirculated, mirrorring the public’s reactions, and at times creating comical moments by surprising visitors, or generating nonsensical dialogues between past and present.
